Founded in 1882, 128 years ago, the orchestra is composed of 128 world class musicians operating as a democratic, self-governing organisation. Scholz & Friends designed posters for each of the 128 soloists to create “128 Virtuosen – 1 Orchester” (128 Stars – 1 Orchestra), winning a Bronze for Posters at the 2010 Clio Awards. Featured below are 1st violinist Kotowa Machida and Simon Bernardini, 2nd violinists Armin Schubert and Daniel Bell, principal cellist/media chairman Olaf Maninger, and conductor Simon Rattle. See more posters from the campaign on the orchestra’s Facebook photo album.
