World Builder in Holographic Short Film

Bruce Branit‘s award-winning short film, World Builder, is currently being featured as #1 Movie on YouTube worldwide. The nine minute film, released in 2007, was awarded Best Narrative Short Film at 2007 KC Filmmakers Jubilee, but was turned down by other film festivals. Take a look and place your rating below…

Brian Paulette plays the part of a man who uses holographic technology to build a world for the woman he loves, played by Erin McGrane. It appears as though he only has 60 minutes to complete the world before it can be entered.

Filming was shot by Bruce Branit in one day at RSVP Studios, Lee’s Summit, MO, USA, with producer Brian Adkins. Branit proceeded to spend the next two years in post production, using Newtek Lightwave 3D, Eyeon Digital Fusion, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, and Dell computers.

Sound was designed by Roger Ledgerwood, Jason Sartain and Randy Skach at Western Automatic Music, with music composed by Randy Skach, synth and drum programming produced by Jason Sartain.

Branit, the owner of Branit VFX based in Kansas City, is also currently repped as a commercial director by Back Alley Films. He has been nominated four times for Emmy Awards for Visual Effects. He is also the co-creator of the acclaimed short film 405.
