The Royal British Legion is a UK charity providing help and welfare to the serving and ex-Service community and their families. Their Poppy Appeal this year is emphasising the need to help the Afghan generation of the Armed Forces and their families, today and for the rest of their lives. “For their sake, wear a poppy”.
Poppy Appeal takes place in the two-week period running up to Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day on 11 November, when the UK pauses for a two minute silence to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice during their service for their country.
