Volkswagen Crafter Word Has Already Spread in Manhattan
Volkswagen is promoting the Crafter in Europe with a print advertisement with a reference to “Lunch Atop a Girder”, a well known photograph from Manhattan, 1932. “Volkswagen Crafter at only € 15.200. Unfortunately the word has already spread.”
The image is a tribute to “Lunch atop a Skyscraper (New York Construction Workers Lunching on a Crossbeam)”, a photograph taken by Charles C. Ebbets on the 69th floor during construction of the GE Building at Rockefeller Center in 1932.
