V Australia is quietly rolling out a campaign this week to fly three friends to Los Angeles to promote the city as Australia’s newest short-break destination. If the three competition winners successfully send 4,320 Tweets in 72 hours (that’s one Twitter per minute from the moment they land at LAX to the moment they depart) they’ll potentially set a Twittering World Record and win round-the-world tickets. The campaign, online at www.4320LA.com and twitter.com/4320LA, is designed to promote the airline’s flights to Los Angeles from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Entries are called for the three contestants, to be chosen on July 20. There’ll be a film crew following the 3 Twitterers, and their Twitter feeds, photos and video footage will be available at www.4320LA.com.
The V Australia team include general manager marketing Michelle Lee, manager retail and partnership marketing Michael Betteridge and retail marketing specialist Jodie Rich.
