US Air Force Not Science Fiction

The United States Air Force has launched a television advertising campaign, with three commercials demonstrating that technology, once thought to be science fiction, is actually being used by the Air Force today. Each commercial spot is portrayed in a cinematic, sci-fi environment and then reveals in the end that these missions are not science fiction, but rather what the men and women in the Air Force do every day.

The first spot featured the Unmanned Aircraft Systems being developed by the Air Force. A reconnaisance unit in a desert scape is supported by a spy plane as they track down enemy snipers in the night.

Space Command

An Air Force commercial highlighting the role men and women in the Air Force’s Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., play in protecting satellite and other space assets. “Space Command” shows what happens when two pieces of space junk collide, sending debris on a potentially cataclysmic collision course with a vital communications satellite.
