Toyota IQ in Amazing Films

Toyota has been promoting the IQ car in Japan with a series of “Amazing Films”, developed by Dentsu Tokyo. The New Way IQ channel, which hosts the Amazing Films, is the second most subscribed sponsored YouTube channel in Japan. Toyota recently announced the winners of IQ Visual Mix, a competition to blend the films with other footage, online at YouTube.

Named for its intelligence quotient, the Toyota IQ competes with the Smart Car. It was first introduced as a concept car at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, as a production version at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. Japanese sales began in October 2008. According to Toyota, the i stands for “individuality” “innovation” and “intelligence”, while the Q stands for “quality” and points to the iQ’s “cubic” shape and “cues” a new value and lifestyle in the automotive market.

Production company was Pict INC.

Filming was produced by Pict Inc. Visual effects were done at Eyedentify Inc.

The campaign won a Silver Lotus for Film at Adfest 2009.
