The Office of John Cheese

The Office of John Cleese, Digital Production Services in Perth, Western Australia, is being promoted in a series of press advertisements asking the question, “Who is John Cheese?”. The series, aimed at the advertising industry, particularly the cigar smoking sector, is designed as a series of excerpts from articles by Marshall Miller, first published in the American edition of the Gentleman’s Magazine.

I don't actually find these funny… and it's obvious the guy doesn't exist, so why are they making a fictitious character that seems like he's going to blow all our cash on hookers & cigars while providing a production service that's standard with the ads 70's photography?

    Really confusing.

I dont' think is confusing nor funny. The copy /very good by the way/ it's a short story. And it's well told. I think the main objective here was to create contrast: How a vintage styled ad could sell you digital production?

I think these guys used a different and clever argument to sell his services. Congrats!
