Scandic Goes Green Bananas
Swedish hotel chain Scandic, with the help of Akestam Holst, has been leaving green bananas around hotels in Northern Europe with a message about unripe prices, due to expire with the arrival of summer on May 31. The green banana message is encouraging travellers to book their summer hotel stays now while the prices are lower.
The campaign shares the concept of writing advertisements on bananas with Honda’s banana advertisement of 2002/2003, but with a green tinge. The green bananas concept has more potential yet, with room for references to the environment and planning to staying alive long enough to see bananas ripen.
