PowerPoint Slides for Free Coffee
CoffeeCompany in The Netherlands has been targetting students for some time, first with free wireless internet access installed in cafes near uinversity. CoffeeCompany is now offering free coffee in exchange for advertising spots during students’ PowerPoint presentations. The Coffeestrippenkaart campaign, online at freecoffee4students.nl, offers a 10 coffees card worth 21 Euro to students who have someone photograph or video them using one of six slide advertisements during their class presentation.
Angela Natividad at Adrants wonders how this would work if used by advertising professionals during their pitch. “Look ironic, stingy and unprofessional — all at the same time!” The question remains, however, as to whether students are prepared to take the plunge with the slide placement. Here’s one video being used by the Coffee Company to help people get the idea.

WiFi Headlines
Another innovation used by CoffeeCompany is changing the name of the free wireless access service on a regular basis, to read “Haveyoutriedthecarrotcake”, “Mmmm…YummyMuffinsOnly1,99″. CoffeeCompany staff said the best part was when a customer would call out for the name of the WiFi network and get back the reply from the barista: “OrderAnotherCoffeeAlready”.
