GlaxoSmithkline Panadol for Cold and Flu is promoted as the way to end the viral impact of social networking in “Milkman”, a print advertisement from Grey Beijing. The ad, which has won a Silver Clio Award, provides at first glance a reference to the amorous activities of a milkman. The key to the puzzle, though, is the woman in the right who is using Panadol Cold & Flu, with the text, “Stop the Flu”. Two similar ads, Britney and Bush, won Silver Lotus awards for art direction at Adfest 2009.
“Milkman”, “Britney” and “Bush” were developed at Grey Group China, Beijing, by executive creative director Chee Guan Yue, creative director Adrian Zhu, art director/illustrator Johnnie Tey, copywriter Albion Li, illustrators Andrew Tan, Singapore, and Johnnie Tey, Malaysia.
