Michael Jackson’s concert film, “This Is It“, is being released by Sony in theaters worldwide on October 28, 2009, limited to two weeks. The trailer premiered during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13 2009, backed up with the launch of the official movie website, www.thisisit-movie.com.

“This Is It” documents Michael’s rehearsals of the concert series of the same name, both on stage and behind the scenes at The Forum and The Staples Center in Los Angeles. The film shows Jackson mentoring his team for the 50 shows, as well creating, developing and ultimately staging the high-tech performances. The film was developed by Sony after a deal was forged between Michael Jackson’s estate, concert promoter AEG Live and Sony Pictures.
