It’s a year since animation house Psyop released their macabre Happy Valentine’s Day short film, Love will tear us apart. The video is an adaptation of a short story by O. Henry, the pen name of William Sydney Porter.
In the original story, James and Della Dillingham Young, a young couple in dire financial straits, seek to find Christmas presents for each other. Della sells her long hair to buy a chain for James’ pocket watch. James sells his watch to buy combs for Della’s hair. Despite each of the presents being rendered useless, they appreciate the loving sentiment expressed by one another. Read the whole story here.
