Jay Z and Alicia Keys in Empire State of Mind

American hip hop rapper Jay-Z collaborated with R&B and soul singer-songwriter Alicia Keys to produce “Empire State of Mind”, the single and music video celebrating New York City. The track includes a sample from “Love on a Two-Way Street” by The Moments.

Filming for the Empire State of Mind music video was directed by Hype Williams, shot on October 1, 2009, in Harlem, Times Square and around Ground Zero of New York City.

   For another rendition of this song by the same artists, check out the coverage of Game 2 of the 2009 World Series game at Yankee Stadium between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies. Also, by Jay Z with a different female singer, at the City Call reception after the Yankees victory parade.
