Allan Gray Investments in South Africa has launched a television commercial imagining what James Dean may have gone on to achieve had he not died at the age of 24.
“Legend” depicts the life of James Dean as it might have been if he’d survived his car crash at the age of 24, going on as a horse whisperer, racing driver, director and humanitarian. A South African actor who underwent two months of coaching to play Dean throughout his life in the spot. A combination of makeup, prosthetics, body doubles and CG face replacement helped bring the legendary actor to life. “Given more time, imagine the possibilities”.

“Time is an essential ingredient in creating wealth,” says Allan Gray’s marketing manager Tracy Hirst. “We can do a lot for investors, but only if they partner us by giving us their time and staying invested for the long term. In the absence of time, value is destroyed.”
