H&R Block brought Death along to the Super Bowl 2009 in “Murray”, a commercial promoting the company’s Second Look Review services.
A tax CPA named Murray has a visit from Death, one of his clients. Unfortunately for Murray Death had H&R Block provide a second opinion and won’t be using Murray anymore. The bell tolls for thee, Murray.

The Death and Taxes spot was developed at Campbell Mithun, Minneapolis, by chief creative officer Jonathan Hoffman, executive creative director Reid Holmes, creative director Joe Stefanson, art director Gary Carter, copywriter Paul Brink, executive producer John Borchardt, head of production Kathy DiToro.
Filming was shot by Bryan Buckley via Hungry Man, New York, with executive producer Kevin Byrne and line producer Mino Jarjoura.
Editor was Chris Franklin at Big Sky Editorial with assistant editor Cristina Cingone and VFX supervisor Ryan Sears. Death’s costuming was created at Legacy Effects, the new incarnation of Stan Winston Studio.
