Halston, the clothing design line, is reinterpreting the traditional show format for Fall 2009 with the launch of a music video directed by Nez Khammel. Founded by American designer Roy Halston Frowick (died 1990), the company built a reputation for long dresses in the 1970s. This music video, online at www.halston.com/fall2009, signals that the company is attempting to move beyond the standard formula of catwalks and presentations.
Elite model Dree Hemmingway runs along a pavement in a yellow dress, passing through vignettes styled to capture the associated glamour and decadence of a transient era.

Filming was shot at Pinewood Studios, London, by director Nez Khammal, via Colonel Blimp, London. Nez’s debut video for artist/rapper M.I.A, Jimmy, was followed up by music videos for Kano’s Hustler, winning the Best Urban Music Video at the UK Music Video Awards in 2008. Other recent videos have included Lily Allen’s The Fear, and Wiley’s Summertime.
Music, “You’re The One”, was written and performed for the video by Benjamin Bronfman (AKA Ben Brewer), the husband of M.I.A, guitarist and vocalist with New York band The Exit and Bermuda, and son of Edgar Bronfman, CEO of Warner Music Group.
