Genres Collide at Melbourne Writers Festival

Melbourne Writers Festival, being held 21 to 30 August, is being promoted in an advertising campaign that dramatises how literary worlds collide, from genre to genre.

Where War Meets Humour

The “Where Stories Meet” theme is strengthened with typography in motion, with voiceovers recorded by some of the authors speaking at the Writers Festival.

The Where Stories Meet campaign roll out over the sides of trams, on posters in cafes, in newspaper and magazine ads, and on Facebook.

The Genres Collide campaign was developed at JWT Melbourne by executive creative director Richard Muntz, copywriter Chris Andrews, art directors Harsh Kapadia and James Orr, agency producers Sherrry Cheesman and Justine Kubale, accoutn directors Nicolas Brown and Elaine Pow.

Animation was produced at Mighty Nice by director Darren Price, producer Trish Knapp, designer Softly Dunstan and compositor Peter Nizic.

Photography was by Bronwyn Kidd, Coco Productions, with retouching by Charlie Jackson at Chuck’s Retouch.

Sound was designed by Stevo Williams at Flagstaff Studios.
