Embrace Diversity End Discrimination
The United Nations is using Human Rights Day 2009, 10 December, to focus on ending discrimination, a theme of the UN human rights office throughout 2010. Humans Rights Day commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Logo design and videos like this one promote the tagline, “Embrace Diversity, End Discrimination”.
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”, says Thai pop singer and actor Khun Kob. Children, a woman, an elderly couple and a worker speak in Thai, Lao, Tagalog, Malay and English to stress the need for opportunities, dignity, respect and equality.
The video was commissioned by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Regional Office for South-East Asia and UNDP Regional Centre Bangkok, by Pablo Espiniella and Emilia Mugnai.
The campaign was developed at Young & Rubicam Thailand, Bangkok, by creative director Sanjay Bhasin.
Filming was shot by director Razneesh Ghai via Benetone Films with director of photography Juthaluck (Pui), producers Kulthep Narula, Rachwin Narula, and production coordinator Mao. Music was by Dhruv Ghanekar at Blue Frog, Mumbai.
