WWF Australia has launched a new television commercial to raise awareness about the global Earth Hour event being held on March 29, 2009. The ad, which will air in 60 and 90 second spots on TV and in cinemas, shows people coming together to cover their apartment block in sheets.
Sydney city dwellers stitch, borrow and steal sheets to transform their apartment building into a huge candle. The message behind the ad is that “none of us are as powerful as all of us”.

The Earth Hour Candle ad was developed at Leo Burnett, Sydney, by creative directors Andy DiLallo and Jay Benjamin, creatives Chris Round and Gary Dawson.
Post production was done at Fuel VFX, Sydney by VFX supervisor Simon Maddison, lead Flame artist Angus Wilson and VFX producer Celia Nicholas. Editor was Danny Tait at The Tait Gallery. Colourist was Ben Eagleton at Bean Colour.
Music was composed by Elliott Wheeler at Turning Studios, Sydney.
