Domestos You Are Not Alone
“You Are Not Alone” is the disturbing message from the marketers of Domestos domestic cleaning products in South Africa, put into disturbing perspective with a range of photographs by David Prior. Bugs are watching, lurking beneath the drain in the kitchen sink, underneath the drain in the shower, and below the rim in the toilet. It should be so disturbing that you’re motivated to get out the Domestos with the Thicker Formula. It kills all known germs dead.

The “You Are Not Alone” campaign was developed for Unilever at Lowe Bull Johannesburg, by executive creative directors Rui Alves and Matthew Bull, creative directors Matthew Brink, Adam Livesey, copywriters/art directors Miguel Nunes, Andre Vrdoljak, with photographer David Prior.
The series won a Silver for Advertising Technique Photography at Epica Awards 2008.

This ad bring new perspective.
It’s always effective to use scare tactics, especially when it comes to the sanctity of one’s home. This is a great point of view from the bugs themselves. I just killed a silver fish on my kitchen counter today so this ad is speaking to me more than usual.
