Chicago 2016 Olympic Moments

Chicago’s bid to host the 2016 Olympics has been given impetus with the screening of films featuring Chicago athletes who have competed in Olympics. The Chicago 2016 campaign features its many videos online at YouTube, including the Why Chicago Contest. This post features the Moments campaign, in which the stories of Chicago athletes are integrated with Chicago cityscapes.

“Moments” features athlete Jackie Joyner-Kersee (1984, 1988, 1992, 1996), gymnast Bart Conner (1984), swimmer Adolph Kiefer (1936), Paralympian athlete April Holmes (2008), Paralympian volleyball player and tennis player Paul Moran (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008), boxer David Diaz (1996), Greg Louganis (1984, 1988), and basketballer Michael Jordan (1984, 1992). Jordan appears at the end to say that the Olympic spirit is alive in Chicago.

Moments was directed by Malik Hassan Sayeed, via Little Minx, RSA Films. Post production was done at Cutters. Visual effects were developed at Sol Design. Sound and music were mixed at Another Country, Chicago.
