Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis, Chambers, is positioned as a “luxury art hotel”, offering 60 guest rooms on five floors of two landmark revival buildings, combining art, design and boutique experience. The establishment runs on the values of creativity, elegance and intimacy. The management have enhanced the hotel’s bar experience with a video art piece featuring what at first appears to be footage from live surveillance shots. The video won a Gold Film Lion at Cannes International Advertising Festival 2009.
A 30 minute video without sound was screened in the bar showing guest room interiors and “guests”, including a nun praying, a couple ballroom dancing, a couple having an argument, a man in a chicken costume, a blow up doll, an alien and a clown. It becomes clear that the video has been artfully staged.
The Chambers Hotel video concept was developed at Barrie D’Rozario Murphy, Minneapolis, by executive creative director/copywriter Stuart D’Rozario, executive creative director/art director Bob Barrie, art director Brian Lambert and agency producer Jack Steinmann.
