BBC Antique Road Show in HD

BBC produced a classic television commercial in 2008 with a comedy of errors promoting the HD version of the Antiques Road Show.

The disaster movie announced the launch of the first UK free-to-air high definition channel, promising a more cinematic experience. The commercial showed a series of spectacular actions taken to stop a £ 2 million vase from breaking. The action hero is represented by newsreader Fiona Bruce who is seen diving, running and finally catching the vase as a car explodes.

The Antique Road Show spoof was designed at Fallon London by creative director Richard Flintham, art directors Sam Walker, Sef Tedder, copywriters Joe De Souza and Harv Bains, and agency producer James Bretton.

Filming was shot by director Jeff Labbe via Red Bee Media, London and Sonny London, with director of photography Alwin Kuchler, producer Joanna Yeldham.

Editor was Scot Crane at The Quarry, London. Post production was done at MPC, London. Audio post-production was done at Grand Central Studios.
