Australian photographer Keith Loutit has used his tilt-shift photography technique to produce Bath Tub IV, a tribute to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Filmed in Sydney over the summer, the short film shows the rescue of a man who has fallen into the sea while fishing on the rocks.

At first glance Loutit’s videos appear to be stop animation using miniatures, thus the title of the video, Bathtub. However, the events captured here involve real people, real boats and a real helicopter. Music is “Clementine”, by Melbourne singer/songwriter Megan Washington (© 2008 J Albert & Son Pty Limited, used with permission). Loutit credits Westpac pilot Peter Yates and crew member Trevor Cracknell .

I don’t know why, but these movies make me happy… They are awesome.
