AT&T Hitting Back with Luke Wilson

AT&T, the USA teleco, is responding to Verizon’s criticism of their 3G wireless coverage with a series of television commercials featuring actor Luke Wilson. The advertisements are the company’s most recent response to the “There’s a Map for That” series, promoting the Motorola Droid. The first response, a lawsuit over false claims, was unsuccessful.

Postcards 1

Actor Luke Wilson sets the record straight on AT&Ts wireless coverage. AT&T covers 97 percent of all Americans. That’s more than 300 million people. In no particular order, Wilson names cities around the USA, including Lake City, Florida, where the bikini was invented.

Postcards 2

Wilson continues the list, getting down to a wider range of cities, including one where he dated a girl. “Didn’t work out”.

Side by Side

Luke Wilson asks, “Who offers the best 3G experience? Let’s compare.” The nation’s fastest 3G network? AT&T. The network that lets you talk and surf the Web at the same time? AT&T. The most popular smartphones? Access to more than 100,000 apps? AT&T. Name that starts with the letter “V”? (Hey, the other guys got one!)

Two Phones

Luke Wilson lends a hand to a frustrated Verizon customer who has to use two phones to talk and surf the Web at the same time. Unlike Verizon’s network, AT&Ts 3G network lets you talk and surf the web at the same time.
