Tesa AG in Germany commissioned tape artist Mark Khaisman to present three print advertisements, Boxer, Sumo Wrestler and Bodybuilder, demonstrating the capacity of Tesapack® Ultra Strong. The campaign won Silver at Cannes 2008 and Epica Awards 2008.
Khaisman uses adhesive tape frequently in his work. For these three advertisements he applied multiple layers of small pieces of tesapack® to a transparent pane that is illuminated from behind. The overlapping layers of tape lend the pictures depth and a three-dimensional impression. Intentionally created wrinkles represent skin folds, body lines and motions.
The Tesa campaign was developed at Jung von Matt AG, Stuttgart, by creative director Joachim Silber, Michael Ohanian, copywriter Lennart Frank, Tassilo Gutscher, art director Stefan Roesinger, graphic designer Dominic Stuebler, and creative director/illustrator Mark Khaisman.
“This approach to making art is a perfect fit for tesa, because our products are often used for creative processes,” explains Achim Franck, Marketing Director Consumer at tesa and the person responsible for the campaign. “These motifs are an aesthetically appealing statement on the quality of our products and represent the key values of the tesa brand at the same time.”
