Silent Night in the Rainforest

Rainforest Concern, an environment group in the UK, has commissioned a Christmas-themed clip to remind viewers about the ongoing importance of ecological responsibility. A child’s voice sings “Silent Night”, as idyllic rainforest scenery gives way to footage of clearing and forest fires.

The blurb on the YouTube video reads, “In the time it takes you to watch this clip, 120 acres – that’s 49 football pitches, of rainforest will be erased forever with the wealth of life that depends on that forest for its survival.”

“Don’t let the forest fall silent. Adopt an acre for someone this Christmas.”
