Origin Energy supporting Earth Hour

Australian company Origin Energy expressed support for the WWF Earth Hour campaign in 2008 with a darkened print advertisement. “At Origin, one of the things we’re doing to help create a brighter future is taking part in Earth Hour. On Saturday, 29th March get on board and switch off your lights between 8-9 pm. For more ways to make a difference to our environment, visit originenergy.com.au Together we can make a difference.”

    Is this original concept? Did it have to be revised? My guess would probably be yes. Some people have difficulty reading. Even with glasses, I’m sure there were those who would have had to squint their eyes just to try and read what the ad is saying. The Campaign Palace probably thought this was revolutionary, but choosing a pitch black background with a dim white shade towards the bottom is probably not a good idea.
