MAPA Spontex, producers of high quality chemical gloves based in France, commissioned a series of humorous print advertisements highlighting the benefits of gloves for sensitive hands. The text on each: “Mapa protective gloves. Because hands are sensitive.” The first four here were awarded a Gold Lion at Cannes International Advertising Festival in 2006. The last three were shortlisted in 2007.
Bad Hair Day
A story of friendship, honesty and hair. “I’ve been to Elton’s Hair Salon. I feel so much better now. What do you think?
Well it looks a tad funny…”
The Bill Please
Sometimes a man has to take a stand. “If you don’t like me anymore we should end it now”
In an unexpected turn of events feelings are hurt. “Caramba you make me hot! Guess how old I am…” “Dunno. forty five… ish?” “At least I’m not a fat pig.”
Conflict in the work related arena. “Peter you’re doing a fantastic job. We’re very happy with you. My only criticism is that sometimes you’re a bit too impatient”. “It’s because I’m black ‘innit.”
Birdy Num Num
If you love something let it go. “Farewell, my little bird friend.”
Just a little prick
The tale of a timid little man.
A fly with one wing torn out, an innocent flower that has lost its petals, a hamster that died of starvation. What unresolved issues do you still have from your childhood?
The MPA Protective Gloves campaign was developed at TBWA Paris, Boulogne-Billancourt, by creative Director Erik Vervroegen, art directors Jonathan Santana, Joakim Reveman, Bjoern Ruehmann, copywriter Xander Smith, and photographer Sven Glage, Hamburg.
