Kate Walsh Does Your Cadillac Turn You On?

Kate Walsh
, known for playing Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy, appears in a TV advertisement for the Cadillac CTS, first shown during the 2008 Super Bowl. “In today’s luxury game, the question isn’t whether or not your car has available features like a 40-gig hard drive. It isn’t about sun roofs or Sapelli wood accents, popup nav screens or any of that. No, the real question is: When you turn your car on, does it return the favor?”

The Kate Walsh spot is part of an ongoing campaign being designed by advertising agency Modernista, Boston. Cadillac’s TV ads are online at www.mycadillacstory.com.

See Bob Garfield’s commentary at AdAge on the evolution of Cadillac’s image from stodgy to sexy. Charlie Moran at Advertising Age’s Songs for Soap believes Modernista misjudged the music.
