Genesis Pukeko Messages in New Zealand
Genesis Energy in New Zealand has used one of the country’s native birds, the Pukeko (swamphen) to illustrate a commitment to sustainable energy production and consumption. In “Nest” a pukeko gathers materials from many sources to build its nest. In “Mummy” A mother pukeko leads her children through a house demonstrating the ways New Zealanders can conserve precious energy.

The Genesis campaign was developed at Lowe Auckland by executive creative director Chris Hunter, art director Leisa Wall and copywriter Jane Jamieson, and agency producer Jackie Clark.
Filming was shot by director Chris Dudman via Robber’s Dog with producers Nikki Walker and Claris Harvey.
Editor was Paul Maxwell at Oktobor. Post production was done at Perceptual Engineering, Auckland. Animals were trained by Mark Vette.
