Dexter going to Adelaide

Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under plays the lead character in Dexter, the story of a policeman who compulsively seeks out and takes out serial killers. Here’s a TV ad for the season finale on Foxtel, set in what appears to be the Australian airport of Adelaide. Dexter currently airs at 8:30pm on Thursdays on Showcase.

After complaints from Adelaide, Foxtel chose to remove the ad from screening. Apparently Adelaide does not have a rate of reported serial killers higher than any other city in Australia. Liberal tourism spokesman Michael Pengilly wrote to Foxtel telling it “references to Adelaide as some sort of serial killers’ capital damages the city’s reputation and its tourism industry.”
