Dell IT through the Decades

Dell has a viral campaign playing on the inept IT approaches of the Baby Boom generation. Mike the IT guy is ignored by his colleagues in 1978, His only supporter on the team cable network G4 presenter Olivia Munn. The ad leaves little to the imagination, using camp comedy complete with wigs, toupees, false moustaches, bad make up jobs, and garish costuming.

“1978 The year IT could have run business better. 1988 the year IT could have made business faster. 1998 the year IT could have made business smarter. 2008 the year IT simplifies business”.

Fun extras on the campaign site can be found just by typing:

    “desktop”

  1. [...] Dell made this viral video campaign playing on the inept IT approaches of previous generations. Mike the IT guy is ignored by his colleagues year after year as his company lets bad ideas drive business. Good thing he’s got Olivia Munn on his side.
