Dare Iced Coffee Alternative
Dairy Farmers in Australia is capitalizing on the summer conditions with an advertising campaign encouraging young men to steer away from the awkward moments in conversation associated with “going for a coffee”. “There is a strong growth opportunity in iced coffee and Dare is currently the fastest growing iced coffee brand in the country. This is fun new creative that pits the benefits of drinking iced coffee against hot coffee. The aim is to further accelerate sales growth through the busy summer months,” said Catherine Cannings-Bushell, Dairy Farmers’ group marketing manager for milk.
The two commercials in the campaign show young men, clearly hot and bothered, whose imaginations run wild with the possible twists in conversation that could happen over a coffee. When pressed, they suggest going out for a Dare iced coffee.
What kind of moment could evolve over a coffee with the girlfriend? Is it all over? Or is she pregnant? Could it be worse? Best play it safe and go out for an iced coffee instead.

The Dare Alternative campaign was developed at BMF, Sydney, by executive creative director Warren Brown, creative director Simon Langley, art director Nils Eberhardt, copywriter Richard Morgan, agency producer Mandy Payne.
