Companhia das Letras Pocket Books
Companhia das Letras in Brazil is promoting its pocket book collection with a print advertising campaign, featuring classic paintings retouched to include typical contents of pockets. Edward Gibbon’s book, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, is placed along side a cigarette lighter. Franz Kafka’s book, The Trial, is placed alongside a large car key. Jorge G. Castaneda’s book, Che Guevara, is placed alongside a strawberry sweet.

The Pocket campaign was developed at AlmapBBDO, São Paulo, Brazil, by executive creative director Marcello Serpa, creative directors Luiz Sanches, Dulcidio Caldeira, copywriter Renan Tommaso, art director Suzana Haddad, account supervisor Yoshito Saito and advertiser’s supervisor Joana Fernandes. Imagery is from Latin Stock.
The Roman Empire advertisement won a Gold Press Lion at Cannes 2008.
