Carling Lager is the beer behind a series of TV adverts celebrating male mateship, with the tagline “You know who your mates are” extending the previous one-word concept of “Belong”.

The Carling Mates campaign was developed at Beattie McGuinness Bungay, London, by executive creative director Trevor Beattie, art director Gav McGrath, copywriter Pat Burns, agency producer Jane Oak.

Filming was shot by director Fredrik Bond via Sonny London with producer Helen Kenny Alicia Richards and director of photography Jess Hall.

Editor was Tim Thornton-Allan at Marshall Street Editors. Post production was done at Moving Picture Company, London. Audio post production was done at 750mph.

    It’s not Tim Key. The actor in the ads that looks a bit like him is called Daniel Porter.
