The battle for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Australia is portrayed with naval terms in a video by Hugh Atkin, Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar. In October 1805 monarchist admiral Brendan Nelson, despite the loss of an arm and eye from medical misadventure, takes on republican Bonaparte (Malcolm Turnbull) who has a five ship advantage. Nelson calls on his right wing Lieutenant Hardy (Tony Abbott) as Bonaparte heads to the left. The ships Solomon and McKewen appear to be victorious but are then sunk. Just as Nelson leads his party to victory, he is shot.
