BNZ Piggy Banks Better Off With New Logo
The Bank of New Zealand has launched a Reggae “Best Hits” video, showcasing moments from the three television commercials and introducing the bank’s new logo.

“Better Off”, a 60 second television commercial, shows the iconic piggy banks enjoying life at their lakeside resort, with the encouragement, “You’ll find more ways to be better off at BNZ”.

The BNZ Pig Tales campaign was developed at Y&R New Zealand by creative director/copywriter Vaughn Davis and art director Mike Mackinven.

The new logo was launched on October 1, 2008, replacing the Southern Cross and full name with the letters BNZ written in what the National Business Review describes as “toothpaste” style, perhaps with a pig’s tail.
The new BNZ identity, designed by DNA, is complemented by a proprietary type family, Serrano, designed by Kris Sowersby of Klim Type Foundry.
