BMW is promoting the new range of efficient dynamics cars with a TV ad featuring the voice of Donald Sutherland and scenery from South Africa. “Thank you hill that charges our battery as we coast down your slopes. To all hills we say thankyou. Thank you breeze. You cool when needed through open vents and they automatically close as we flick over our lines. To all the stop signs that allow our engines to pause, turning off on in a blink without asking, without fuss. Thankyou. To gravity we also extend our gratitude. You don’t claw at our light alloy engines. And roads your surface allows our friction wheels to roll, keep rolling, further, further. To all of you thank you for helping create the most efficient and dynamic BMWs ever.

The Thankyou campaign, launched in May 2008, was developed at WCRS, London, by copywriter/art director Yannakis Jones, with planners Olivia Bebb and Laurence Parkes, agency producer James Lethem.
