Wikipedia, the online community-edited encyclopaedia, is starting to include entries on institutions, people and work associated with the advertising and design industries. Articles on people, institutions, companies in the creative industry are accepted by the Wikipedia community with a few conditions. Entries will be deleted if they are seen to be used as a means of propaganda and advertising. They must be written in an objective and unbiased style. External links to commercial organizations are acceptable if they identify major organizations. Articles should rely on reliable, third-party, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy.

At this point the three trade magazines included on the English-language edition of Wikipedia are Advertising Age, Adweek and Creativity.
Advertising Agencies
Checking out Advertising agencies by country in the English-language edition will reveal that the bias is towards advertising agencies of the United States. The Advertising Agency article includes material on full service, interactive, tradigital, search engine and social media agencies.
Networks covered in Wikipedia include Omnicom Group, WPP Group, Interpublic Group of Companies, Publicis Groupe, Havas.
Advertising Awards
The The Advertising Awards category includes entries for Cannes International Advertising Festival, the Addy Awards, the Clio Awards, The One Club and The Gunn Report.
Other Categories
See also Film Production Companies, Visual Effects Companies, Animation Studios. At this point there doesn’t seem to be any entries for Sound Design and Music companies.
Blogs are rarely allowed their own articles in Wikipedia, unless they have been referred to in published sources and have a significant following.
