The Children’s Rights Alliance, Ireland, has produced a TV ad on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The 2D animation provides the perspective of Adam, a seven year old boy from Ireland, and his twelve year old sister Alison. When asked who was responsible for looking after the rights of children in Ireland, Alison explains that the government needs to be backed up by all adults.

Universal Children’s Day, observed today (November 20) around the world, marks the day on which the UN Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. The establishment of the day itself was recommended by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954.

Adam and Alison was created in 1999 at Young Advertising, Dublin and produced by Caboom and Fish Films, Dublin, Ireland.
