Thirsty Camel Bottle Stores Everywhere in Australia

Innkeeper bottle shops in Australia are being re-bannered as ‘Thirsty Camel‘, using a series of TV ads to spread the word. Camels find their way into everyday situations involving water: a men’s toilet, a bathroom, and even a traffic jam in which a motorist washes his window to cope with the 41 degree heat.

The Thirsty Camel campaign was developed at Twenty20 by account director & strategist Rod Curtis, creative director Fysh Rutherford; creatives Andrew Panozzo, Matthew Ellis, designer Rachael Simpson and agency producer Beaver.

The new brand name strategy was developed in partnership with Andrew Hoyne of Hoyne Design, who created the look and feel of the brandmark.

The spots were produced at The Hub.

Sound was designed by Stevo Williams at Flagstaff Studios.

The campaign’s ambient marketing material includes ‘camel bowls’ substituting dog bowls outside bottleshops, “beer-o-clock” egg-timers as customer give-aways.

Hello” My name is Kaye and I have been waiting for your web site to be up and running.
I am in the process of organising a Camel race in Avoca Victoria it will be in the long weekend in June 2008. The name of the event will be the Flaming camel race and we are expecting it to be a hugh annual event.
We would you like to be our major sponsor of this event. Please consider our target market will be Melbourne,Ballarat, Bendigo, Ararat and surrounding areas. If you are interested in knowing more about this event please contact myself on 03 54653795 or 0417560507 I know that you have a bottle shop in Maryborough and this is where I first noticed you and thought no harm in asking. We have sort through our shire to have a consultant on board to make us look a little more professional, however I like the good old fashion way, ask very nicely and see what happens. Thank you for taking time to read my email and if you would please consider being a major sponsor it will be a great opportunity for us both re advertising the event and the Thirsty Camel. The theme that will be advertised is the Pyrenees Month we will be the last event ran. “Are you” all fired up for the Flaming Camel Race at the Avoca race course set at the foot of the Blue Pyrenees Ranges, this is the end of the Fires (events) burning through out the Pyrenees month. After all the days events have come to a closer, lets set the hills aglow with fireworks to celebrate and reflect the closer of this very successful month in the Pyrenees Shire.
It is very hard to give you the whole concept in one email, as I am sure you would understand.

Please consider our request and I hope we will talk soon.

    Kind regards

    Kaye Charlesworth

President of Avoca Festival & Events Inc.

  • Jim you’re best to phone Thirsty Camels at 1300 1Camel and ask to talk to their marketing manager. Leaving a message here is unlikely to ever reach them.

Who wrote your ads? ‘”Bought” to you by’. Good grief don’t you know the difference between “bought” and “brought”. Get someone who can write English correctly for you and get rid of that rubbish you currently have on TV ads.
