The Games Children Play for Save the Children

Save the Children launched an advertising campaign in 2006 focusing on the all too real games played by children in places of war and famine. Hide and seek, treasure hunt, Mummies and Daddies, Doctors and Nurses, and Toy Soldiers, are played out on screen while a piano plays the Mother Goose nursery rhyme “Girls and Boys Come Out To Play”.

Save the Children Australia has produced a booklet (download booklet here ) to illustrate the difference between the games children play and the real life issues that face the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children. To show the difference a donation can make the organisation has an online coin scratch-and-see flash animation.
