Stihl promoted the desirability of their brushcutter in “At The Door”, a print advertising campaign using the tagline, “Cut Your Brush” or “Débrousaillez” (French). A pizza delivery man, a vacuum cleaner salesman and a postman show evidence of having struggled through wild foliage on their way to the door.
The Cut Your Brush campaign was developed at DDB Paris, by creative directors Alexandre Hervé and Sylvain Thirache, art director Martin Darfeuille, and copywriter Edouard Perarnaud, account supervisors Jean-Jacques Sébille, C. Vitrant, and photographer David Harriman. Advertiser’s supervisors were Gilles Olleris and Wolfgang Ebbecke.
The campaign won a mention in the Awards Prix Club des Directeurs Artistiques, 2004, for Small poster & Below the line, and 2nd prize for Complete magazine campaigns, a Bronze Lion at Cannes Lions – International Advertising Festival, 2004, and a Bronze at Eurobest, 2004.
