Queensland Police in Mad World

Queensland Police Union have launched a 2-minute mini documentary using the Tears For Fears song, “Mad World”, sung by Shane Murray.

We’re shown police handling a huge range of crises, ranging from a lost child to traffic violation, street violence, bereavement, domestic violence and injury. The TV ad is part of a campaign for better pay. Filming took place over three weeks with real police officers.

The Police advertising campaign has coincided with the fatal shooting of a policeman while on duty. 33 year old Brett Irwin was shot in the chest while investigating a warrant on Wednesday July 18.

The Queensland Police campaign was developed at Redsuit Advertising, Brisbane. Filming was shot by director Mike Hilburger via Zoom Film & Television. See his version of the ad in quicktime at Zoom.
