Nike places Spanish basketballer Pau Gasol and Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal together with Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho (playing for Barcelona) in an adrenaline-packed playoff television advertisement. The three hooded players take the back route into a Spanish stadium in which players are supported by an audience of rhythmic clappers. Each shows something of their skills as they respond to challenges from the audience. Ronaldinho is invited to kick his ball through the door. Instead, he shoots a hoop. The ad finishes with the well known Nike epithet, “Do It”, and the web site address, tumomentum.es

Other people in the audience include Flamenco duo the Estopa Brothers, Spanish footballers Fernando Torres and Sergio Ramos.

The Momentum site and TV ad have been developed to provide a focus for Spanish athletes. Being Spanish should not be seen as an excuse, but as a responsibility. Spanish players, professional and amateur, are called to share in keeping up the momentum. “Tu Momentum” is “Your Momentum”.
