12 Days of Christmas Drunk Driving

MTV and AutoTrader in the UK have combined music and safe driving messages in a challenge to drunk driving over the festive season. Children from the St Paul’s Choir sing through the revised lyrics for the traditional carol, the 12 Days of Christmas, over footage of children and adults (actors) in accident and emergency departments. The spot was released together with another video, The Real Idiots, which was set to Jingle Bells.

Revised Lyrics for 12 Days of Christmas

On the twelfth day of Christmas
a drunk driver gave to me…
twelve months in traction
eleven weeks on crutches
ten operations
nine years of nightmares
eight (kinds of) flesh wounds
seven spinal fractures
six weeks unconscious
Food through a tube
Four broken limbs
Three heart attacks
Two punctured lungs
and a lifetime in a wheelchair.
