Where Were You On September 11

The WTC Memorial Foundation has an integrated campaign marking the fifth anniversary of September 11, 2001, asking the American public, “Where Were You When It Happened?”, inviting them to think back, move forward, and support the building of the World Trade Center memorial.

Where Were You When It Happened?

The print campaign, developed pro bono by TBWA\Chiat\Day, includes a number of donated photographs of deserted scenes:
Sergio Fernandez – a stadium, under a rail bridge on the Long Island line.
Todd Hido – a motel room and a houses at night.
Mark Leary – desk lamp
Juliana Sohn – a locker room and a classroom.

TBWA researched locations by interviewing individuals about where they were on September 11, 2001. TBWA also met with 9/11 family members and survivors to help formulate ideas for the campaign.
