October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month around the world. See Matthew Oliphant’s Pink For October site to connect with sites around the world focusing on the movement. In the Czech Republic last year Avon ran an outdoor campaign raising awareness among women of the need to self monitor for breast cancer. Each of the displays included the text, “Defend Yourself! Regular checkups help prevent breast cancer damage”, and “Avon Against Breast Cancer”.
The campaign was developed at Mark BBDO, Prague, by creative director Martin Charvat, art director Ondrej Karásek, and photographer Roman Dietrich. The campaign won a silver drum at The Golden Drum Awards, 2005.
